His approach to the saxophone is no different than the elite saxophonists performing throughout the world today. Ron brings an exceptional level of professionalism, musicianship, and distinct quality to each and every performance. Biography
Ron is a
native of Coeur d'Alene, ID, and still lives there today. He began playing
alto at age 12 and received his BA in Saxophone Performance in 2002 from Eastern Washington University, winning EWU's Jazz Arranging Competition both years he was there.
Through the years, Ron has performed extensively throughout the
Inland Northwest with the "who's who" of this region. He plays in a
variety of musical settings (from duos to quartets to big band) and is a frequently requested solo guest artist. In addition to
his live performances, Ron released his debut album, Nothing Major,
featuring a number of his original compositions in 2010. Ron maintains a private studio of saxophone
students, who are continually ranked among the top high school
saxophonists in the state of Idaho, and has been a jazz clinician and
adjudicator for the Idaho Solo & Ensemble Festival. Ron currently sits in the lead alto chair for the Bob Curnow Big Band, is a music director for the Spokane All City Jazz Ensembles Program, and a music copyist for Sierra Music Publications.
